A Collaborative Journey into the Heart of the City
I embarked on a unique filmmaking project with Kika Yang, exploring Berlin’s dynamic urban landscape. Our goal was to delve into the city’s hidden gems, uncover inspiring initiatives, and challenge conventional perspectives on urban development.
Overcoming Obstacles, Embracing Opportunity
Our journey wasn’t without its challenges. A sudden injury to Kika forced us to adapt our plans, transforming a potential setback into a powerful narrative tool. By incorporating her perspective as a person with limited mobility, we were able to offer a fresh and empathetic lens on the city.

The documentary highlights several remarkable projects and individuals shaping Berlin’s future:
The Floating University: A visionary project that transforms a barge into a floating classroom, offering unique learning experiences.
Gleidreickpark: A vibrant community space where children and young adults engage in creative and educational activities.
Constructlab: A collective that empowers individuals to actively participate in shaping their urban environment through innovative building projects.
Berlin’s Urban Planning Department: A behind-the-scenes look at the city’s strategic planning and development.
A Testament to the Power of Human Ingenuity Through this project, we aimed to inspire viewers to think critically about urban spaces and to encourage active participation in shaping our cities. By sharing the stories of these inspiring individuals and projects, we hope to ignite a spark of creativity and innovation.
A Collaborative Effort This documentary was a collaborative effort, bringing together filmmakers, urban planners, and community activists. It was a challenging but rewarding experience, and I am proud to have been a part of it.
